How does the cloud based phone system work?

Is e911 supported?

Yes, we believe this is important and so does the FCC.

What happens when I lose internet or power?

Losing power or internet at your location will impact your desk phones ability to make or receive calls. The cloud based system will still be processing your company’s calls and our technology will allow you to route those calls to your mobile phone. Furthermore, if your business requires higher fault tolerances, there are many reasonably priced power and internet back up options available today. Talkpath is able to provide you with suggestions.

What happens as my business grows?

This is one of the greatest benefits of a cloud based service. Your phones can scale with your business. Whether you have 10 phones or a thousand.

Are multiple locations supported?

Yes. Being a cloud service enables incredible flexibility. There isn’t a difference if one phone is the same location or a thousand miles away.

How much effort is required to switch?

The Talkpath team will guide you through every step of the process. Key steps include completing the telephone number port authorization for current numbers, choosing which phones models you prefer, providing configuration preferences, and verifying setup. On average this process takes 2-3 weeks to ensure a smooth transition.

Are there installation or setup fees?

Talkpath does not charge setup or installation fees

Do I have to buy or install special equipment?

There are no telephone lines, switches, or special hardware that need to be installed or maintained. The only equipment required is the phone itself.

What is required for the phones to work?

A SIP (session Initiated Protocol) telephone and a reliable internet connection are all that are needed.

Can I keep my current phone numbers?

Yes, there is a porting process from you current carrier that Talkpath will guide you through. On average, the port process takes 2 weeks.

Can I make changes to my phones as needed?

Talkpath can fully manage any changes via our support process.  For customers who want to control their own changes, they can use Talkpath’s web interface.

Do I have to buy new phones?

Talkpath does not require proprietary phones. We support many different SIP models and manufacturers. Please contact us and we can determine if your existing phones will work.
